Alan F. Offeney, age 67, of Stratford, formerly of Fairfield, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Clarence and Evelyn Offeney, Alan had been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Andrew Warde High School, class of 1975. Alan was employed for many years in the warehouse operations of numerous local businesses including Modern Tobacco & Candy Company, Chapin & Bangs, R & S Electrical Supply, Marle Electric Lighting and Stamford Lighting. He also worked in the Security office at Bullard and as a security guard in Stamford. Alan was a lifelong active member of the Golden Hill United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, served as a Youth Fellowship Advisor and Counselor and active with the Boy Scout Troop at the Church. Alan was an avid model railroad enthusiast and great comedian. He will be fondly remembered as a loving and caring brother to his sibling Sharon Offeney who will miss him dearly.
Services celebrating Alan’s life will be held in the spring at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Hill United Methodist Church, 210 Elm St., Bridgeport, CT 06604 or to the charity of one’s choice.
