Alex B. Erdo

Alex B. Erdo passed away peacefully next to his wife of 60 years, Elaine, on June 9, 2023.

Alex & Elaine, began dating in the Fall of 1955 and after many years together, they were married in 1963 on a rainy day in May. They are both lifelong residents of Norwalk and Alex made a wonderful home for his wife, Elaine and their children, Scott & Jenny and their many family dogs in Norwalk.

If you knew Alex or even knew of the legend, you’d know he was an amazing golfer and even holds records to this day at Oak Hills Golf Park. Alex even celebrated his first and only hole in one on Oak Hills 15th hole. Many will also have fond memories of him as a Ranger during his later years.

Alex was also a lifetime member of the South Norwalk Boat Club. He enjoyed boating in his early years as a member, was always at Monday Men’s Night and of course he always brought his appetite for the Pasta Night dinners along with his love for ice cream sundaes.

Alex was a friend to all with his vibrant spirit for life, his jokester ways. His genuine smile and sincere handshake made everyone love to be around Big Al.

Alex served 4 years in the Navy Reserves out of high school and became a printer afterwards. His talent for printmaking and printing while keeping up with the times and technology, made him an asset to each company he worked for up until his retirement.

Alex was a loving husband to Elaine, a remarkable and caring father to Scott Erdo (Michele Erdo) & Jenny DeMichael. He is also survived by his grandchildren Steven Erdo, Alexis Erdo of Texas, Carly DeMichael of Connecticut, and his bonus family Jalissa Velazques, Alyssa Fuentes and Tank the family dog.

He will be remembered for all the heart and laughter he shared with his family & friends. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength and love for all of those who went before him.

Know Big Al is smiling down on us all, as he tees off at the next hole at Heaven’s Golf Course.

Play well Alex and enjoy your next round – May you get all bullseyes and birdies.

We will miss you…
