Alexander Yelner, known as Alex or Sasha, by those close to him, passed away on August 24, 2015, at age 63. Alex was born on July 24, 1952 in Kiev, Ukraine, where he also met, and fell in love with Marina, his wife of 42 years. He was a musician, a wrestler and an avid outdoor adventurer. He loved to grill kebabs (always beef or pork, never chicken, "I want meat, chicken is not meat" he would say) after a day of boating, sunbathing, or camping. A mild-mannered computer programmer by day, he loved to watch boxing and UFC matches. He enjoyed reading novels, watching Walker Texas Ranger, and palling around with his best friend, who happens to be a small tabby cat. Most importantly, Alex was a man who would do anything for his family. He was an incredible father and grandfather. The best, really. He is survived by his wife Marina, daughter Olia, son-in-law Darren, and granddaughter Penelope. Donations in Alex's memory can be made to Debbie's Dream Foundation (to find a cure for Stomach Cancer) at https://www.debbiesdream.org
