Ann Draskovics Piretti

Ann Draskovics Piretti, age 97, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Silvio (Steve) Piretti, entered eternal life on Saturday, January 11, 2014. Born on July 31, 1916 and raised in Bridgeport, Ann was a Fairfield resident for most of her life. She was a devoted member of St. Emery's Parish serving several terms as President of the Ladies Guild. Ann was a very active member of the Sunshine Club, which she held near and dear to her heart, and was the parish representative to the Diocese Council of Catholic Women. In recent years, Ann was also a member of Holy Cross Church and was a willing volunteer for all church functions. She was also a lifelong member of the Miraculous Medal Association. Ann especially loved time spent with her family. She was predeceased by her son Andrew of Richmond, VA and is survived by her children, Robert and his wife Mary of New Jersey, Kathleen Allen and her husband Peter of Fairfield, CT and Patricia Ostroske of Michigan. Ann is also survived by seven grandchildren that she adored; Edward, Kimberly, Kathleen, Christina, Richard, Charlotte and Mark and her 10 precious great-grandchildren. Ann leaves behind her loving sister Theresa Feranec, and was predeceased by her sisters Rose Marzulla, Grace Mendillo, Mary Horvath and Julia Hira. Ann brought joy to the lives of many people and she will always remain in the hearts and minds of her family and friends. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 10:30AM directly at Holy Cross Church located at 750 Tahmore Drive, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 4-7PM at the Spear Miller Funeral Home located at 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Cross Church in Ann's memory. The Piretti family would like to thank those who provided care to Ann including Vitas Home Hospice.
