Anthony J. "Cal" Caldaroni, 80, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Kathleen O'Byrne Caldaroni passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the CT Hospice in Branford. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Anthony and Sophia Caldaroni, he was a Trumbull resident for the last 50 years. Mr. Caldaroni was a graduate of Harding High school and the University of Bridgeport. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a retired Personnel Manager for Sikorsky Aircraft. Cal enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for serving up great breakfasts on the weekends. He was an avid Red Sox fan and all-around sports enthusiast. Cal played competitive basketball well into his mid-30's and played for the Orcutt Boy's Club in his youth as well as the University of Bridgeport and the U.S. Air Force teams. Survivors in addition to his wife Kathleen include four beloved children, Michael and his wife Stacey of Monroe, Robert and his wife Lisa Wenger of Wilton, Thomas and his wife Merci of Middlebury and Karen DeRose and her husband Dan of Trumbull; and ten cherished grandchildren. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Church, Trumbull CT. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private.
