Aurica DeWitt, age 88, of Shelton passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 4th. Born in Newark, New Jersey; she had lived in Fairfield since 1965. Aurica graduated from Katharine Gibbs and later ran Economy Printing with her husband, Dick, for more than 20 years. She was funny and sharp-witted, unshakable and strong. She was simultaneously no-nonsense and all nonsense in the best way. Aurica enjoyed playing Solitaire with well-worn cards, completing crossword puzzles and preserving memories in beautiful scrapbooks. She is survived by her four children, Paul DeWitt and his wife Brenda of Danbury, Lisa DeWitt and her husband Edwin Smith of Black Rock, Karen Klein and her husband Thomas of Fairfield, and Richard DeWitt of Stratford; six cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Ean, Katie, Tristen, Megan, and Tug; a great-granddaughter, Avery; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters and her loving husband and best friend, Dick. The family will be having private services.
