Barbara H. Minto (Feher), beloved wife of the late Frank J. Minto passed from this life on June 22, 2023. Born in Bridgeport on May 11, 1944, Barbara was the youngest child of the late John P. and Helen Henderson Feher. She grew up in the house her father built on Mill Plain Rd in Fairfield. Upon graduation from Roger Ludlowe High School, she worked at McClellan’s of Westport, Consumers Petroleum and then had a long career working at Standard Oil until her retirement. Barbara enjoyed many trips to Lake George with her husband, his children, and her lifelong friend Nancy whom she was eternally grateful to for her care and devotion until her final days. She and Frank enjoyed bowling and they were avid Mets fans. She had many memories with her parents, her late sister Louise Feher, her late brother Jack Feher and his family. She enjoyed taking walks and had a fond appreciation for gardening, butterflies, and birds.  Barbara had a special friendship and love for her nephew Jackie. She loved her stepchildren and step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Barbara was always thoughtful to remember birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays, especially the children.  She had a special relationship with her step granddaughter, Noelle. They spoke on the phone 3-5 times daily, read books, played parachute, took frequent walks, had special dates, ended most evenings with an Elvis song and were fierce UNO competitors.

Barbara was shy and quiet with a great sense of humor, yet she was generous and kindhearted.  She coined a phrase, “Oh Dear” that she used often and is now a regular expression in the family.

Survivors include her stepdaughters Patti Saad [Philip], Pam Kelly, Marybeth Minto, June Minto.  Barbara was predeceased by her stepdaughter Lois Minto whom she had a special relationship with.  Step grandchildren, Hayley Vyas [Anthony], Julia Bershefsky [Daniel], Marlee Saad [Charles Gill], Nicholas Saad, Noelle Saad, Kaitlyn Trzepacz [Dominic], Patrick Kelly [Stephanie], Shauna Minto, and many step great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by special friend of the family, Francis Kelly.  The family wishes to thank Noelle’s close friend & job coach, Vernita Foreman for providing special assistance to help Noelle thru this difficult time while forging her own friendship with Barbara.
