Beatrice F. Thompson

Beatrice F. Thompson, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Fairfield, CT for over 60 years.
Beatrice was the beloved wife of the late Walter F. Thompson. She was also predeceased by her children, Nancy M. Freeman and Kevin C. Thompson. She is survived by her son-in-law, Ronald Freeman of Naugatuck, CT, a granddaughter, Christine Cummings and her husband Chris Cummings of Naugatuck, a grandson, Jason Freeman also of Naugatuck and his fiancé Bethany LaRoche of Milford, CT, a grandson Kris Thompson of Florida, and four great-grandchildren, Brendan Cummings , Julia Cummings, Colton Cummings, and Olyvia Thompson. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Thompson was a retired receptionist and telephone operator for Fairprene Inc. Beatrice had an extreme love for her music. She was an organist at Holy Family Church in Fairfield for over 38 years. She also taught music at Hammond Organ Studios of Westport and Westport-Fairfield Piano and Organ Co. She delighted the residents of many area convalescent homes with her music. Beatrice enjoyed spending her time and was very involved with her Holy Family Church community. She was a member of Holy Family Parish Council, Rosary Guild, Liturgical Committee; as well as Tuesday morning Prayer Group "Companions on the Journey" and a member of the Council of Catholic Women. She was also a past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 9427 for the year 1976.
Bea's family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to her family members; as well as the many neighbors, friends and caregivers who have helped and cared for her throughout the years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
