Benno James Troidle

Benno J. Troidle age 84 of Fairfield, beloved husband of 54 years of Mary Ann (Johnston) Troidle passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Albany, NY the son of the late Benno and Constance Troidle, he had been a Fairfield resident for the last 50 years. He was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received his Masters in Engineering from the University of Bridgeport. Mr. Troidle served in the U.S. Navy achieving the rank of LTJG. He worked for Sikorsky Aircraft and retired from Hughes Optical, a division of PerkinElmer. An avid golfer, he was a member of the H. Smith Richardson Men's Club. Survivors in addition to his loving wife Mary Ann include three beloved sons, Mark J. Troidle and his wife Patricia of Branford, Kurt J. Troidle and his wife Laura of Branford and Thomas W. Troidle and his wife Susan of Chesterfield, VA; five cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Jamie, Anneliese, Zachary and Harrison; a sister-n-law, Catherine Hartmann of Mt. Kisco, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, John Griffith Troidle and a sister, Constance Pray. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at Holy Cross Church, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery.
