Betty A. (Betsy) Kenney

Betty A. (Betsy) Kenney, age 80, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of William F. Kenney, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in New Haven, the daughter of the late John and Esther Bayzat, she had been a Bridgeport resident for 36 years. A graduate of James Hillhouse High School, Betsy retired as a Head Teller for People's Bank. In addition to her loving husband, William, she leaves behind four children, Nora Hackett, John Hackett (Kathy), Steven Hackett (Amy) and Beth Hackett (Michael Savoie) two step-children, Karen Wallace (Lew) and Kurt Kenney (Zoe); a sister, Jane Amato of FL; a brother, John Bayzat of Branford; her grandchildren, Sara Sady (Ken), Emily Hackett, Kelly Mahoney (William), Haley Wallace, Allison Wallace, Mackenzie Kenney, Zachary Kenney; great grandson Shaun Sady, two additional great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Edward Hackett, a grandson, John Hackett, III and a sister, Nancy LoRusso. Betsy enjoyed spending time with her family especially during holidays and loved to travel. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
