Beverly Ann Figlar

Beverly Ann Figlar, age 71, of Winston - Salem, NC, formerly of Fairfield, beloved wife of 53 years of Neil Figlar, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Born in Bridgeport the daughter of the late Vincent Anthony Russo and Margaret Elizabeth (O'Reilly) Russo, she had been a long-time Fairfield resident prior to moving to North Carolina in 2013. She was a 1959 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas Grammar School and Andrew Warde High School in 1963. Beverly was employed for 40 years in accounting for Town Fair Tire. She was an avid bowler and bowled for decades at Circle Lanes and the Town Fair Tire Bowling Team. Beverly loved to travel, was a voracious reader, loved to cook, enjoyed shopping, was a movie buff, enjoyed bingo and trips to the casinos. Generous to a fault and always one to depend on, Beverly loved children and was passionate about attending family events, picnics, gatherings and celebrations. Beverly will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to everyone she met. Survivors in addition to her loving husband Neil include a son, James Figlar and his wife Julie, a daughter Kim Figlar-Barnes and her husband Ron, two grandsons Jarred Figlar-Barnes and Mark Gibb, four sisters and one brother; Patrica Russo, Nancy Riker, Barbara Ploski, Donna Grannan and Vincent Russo, and many nieces, nephews and countless cousins. Friends may greet the family Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4-8 PM in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A prayer service will be held at 7:30. Interment will be private.
