Bridget "Breda" O'Halloran (Murphy), age 62, of Bridgeport, formerly of Tallaght, Ireland, passed away in her home on the morning of Monday, March 2, 2020. Born in Dublin, Ireland to Daniel and Margaret (McLaughlin) Murphy, Breda spent the first 43 years of her life in the area, living in suburbs of the city, Ballyfermot and Tallaght. At the age of ten, Breda met her one-day "high school sweetheart," Cornelius O'Halloran, whom she married in 1976. Breda and Con began their family and settled in Tallaght, which was just beginning its suburban development at the time. She coordinated the organization of "The Parents Room" at Sacred Heart Junior School in Killinarden, Tallaght. The Parents Room served as a space for parents to discuss various topics about the curriculum, the school itself, and upcoming activities of their children in attendance of the school. In 2000, the O'Halloran's moved to the United States. Upon their arrival, Breda and Con immediately joined the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield. Over her time here, she worked in several places to include Abbey Tent and Party Rentals and the G.A.C. In addition to her beloved husband, Con O'Halloran, Breda is survived by her three loving children, Karen (Sean) of Milford, Elaine (Paul) of Kilnamanagh, Tallaght, and Daniel (Kate) of Hamden; four cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Katie, Sarah, and Chloe; three sisters, Eithna Samblin, Terry Wynne, and Mary Duff; as well as several nieces and nephews. As well as her parents, Breda is predeceased by two sisters, Sheila Mowlds and Margaret Murphy. The family would like to give special thanks and gratitude to the staff at St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport, as well as Dr. Hotchkiss, Rita, and other staff at the Fresenius Medical Care in Fairfield, for the outstanding care and support through Breda's illness. A service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 6:00pm at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Friends and family are invited to gather on Friday from 4:00pm until the time of the service at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home.
