Bruce E. Moore, age 80, of Fairfield, beloved husband of 61 years to Nancy R. Moore, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at his home. Born in Groton, MA, the son of the late Edward and Geraldine Moore, he had been a Fairfield resident for the last 47 years. Bruce was a self-made man, starting as a part-time employee at the age of 16 at Arrow Shirt and rising to Vice President of Cluett Peabody and Company (Arrow Shirt) in their corporate headquarters in New York City. After leaving Cluett Peabody, he became a partner at the Lippman Company in Springfield, New Jersey until his retirement. During his career Bruce was fortunate that his position allowed him to travel to Europe, the Far East and South America. An avid amateur radio operator, he was President of Greater Fairfield Amateur Radio Association (GFARA.) Bruce loved sailing and raced in several Bermuda races. He was a member of the New York Yacht Club, Black Rock Yacht Club and currently, a member of the Fayerweather Yacht Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a passionate fly fisherman and skeet shooter. He loved spending time at his home in Alstead, New Hampshire where he was a former President of the Wildlife Conservation Trust. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who treasured every moment spent with his family. In addition to his devoted wife Nancy, he is survived by four beloved children, Scott Moore and his wife Ana of Wolcott, Todd Moore and his wife Lee Anne of Georgetown, TX, Dr. Randall Moore and his wife Christine of Pleasantville, NY and Audrey McNichols and her husband James of Norwalk; ten cherished grandchildren, Amanda and Heather Moore, Maximo and Liliana Panizza, Aleaxander, Rebecca, Matthew and Katherine Moore, Conor and Norah McNichols and a great-granddaughter, Esther Panizza. Friends may greet the family Friday, January 19, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A prayer service will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m. with the Rev.
