Byron F. Campbell, age 48, of Trumbull, went home to be with the Lord suddenly on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 while working in Boston, MA. Born in Hattiesburg, MS, Byron came to Fairfield in 1982 and had resided in Trumbull for the last 20 years. He was a graduate of Andrew Warde High School and The Institute of Audio Research in New York City. Byron was co-owner and Senior Partner of Business Development of Firelight Media Group, a full service multi-media production company. He was an active member of Black Rock Church where he developed his interest in sound and media. He also volunteered at many other churches throughout the area. He traveled to several countries in Africa as a videographer of health workers sponsored by MedSend, and also participated in a mission trip to Mexico to teach youth multimedia skills. Byron was actively involved in his children's sports teams in Trumbull where he coached, and served as Regional Commissioner of the AYSO. He was the voice of several Trumbull High School sporting events, and always looked forward to attending all his children's sports activities. He loved playing golf, skiing, softball, soccer, and basketball and was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Notre Dame and fantasy football fan. Byron became a founding partner of FMG in 2005 and his career included winning multiple Emmy Awards for his work for NBC Sports-Olympic Coverage and other television productions he worked on. He was an active member of the Trumbull Rotary where he was a Paul Harris Fellow, a 2013 recipient of the Norman Parcells Award and was currently serving as President Elect. Byron was a former member of the Trumbull Cable Advisory Board. In 2006 he proudly received the Congregational Coalition on Adoption Institute's Angels in Adoption Award. Byron had a tremendous love for his family, his Lord and his community and was always willing to help or volunteer in any way possible. His spirit of giving back continues, as Byron elected to be a tissue and organ donor. He will be sadly missed by his four loving children, Jonathan P. Campbell, Ryan K. Campbell, Monet E. Campbell and Faith M. Campbell all of Trumbull; his loving parents, Bruce and Karen (Tosch) Campbell of Douglasville, GA; two devoted brothers, Brandon H. Campbell and his wife Chizu and their children, William and Kait, and Bryson L. Campbell and his wife Kimberly and their two sons, Tyler and Connor; and his former wife, Kelly Dowd Campbell of Trumbull. He was predeceased by two sisters, Kristine and Karissa Campbell and his grandparents, Hugo and Eunice Tosch and Frank and Billie Campbell.
