Carlos Benjamin Guerra, Jr.

Carlos Benjamin Guerra Jr, age 78, of Fairfield passed away on Saturday April 10, 2021 at home with his family in Montclair, NJ. Born in Havana, Cuba, son of the late Carlos and Olga Guerra, he was a Fairfield resident for the past 36 years. He attended the Colegio de Belen in Cuba and received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Bridgeport. He spent his career working as an R&D Chemist at Polyone in Stamford. Carlos was a true gearhead who enjoyed classic cars, riding motorcycles, and flying planes. He also enjoyed painting, music, playing chess, and Uconn Basketball. Carlos will be lovingly missed by his wife of 38 years Geraldine Palutis Guerra; his Lotus Elan; his daughter Nina Hennessy (Brian); his brothers Jorge Guerra (Denise) and Hector Guerra (Sandra); his sister Caroline Guerra-Baker; his grandchildren Scarlett and Grant Carlos; his dear friends “the car guys”; his cousins Elise Edmisson (Russell) and Rich Guerra (Deborah); and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his grandson Cole Benjamin Hennessy. Friends may call on Thursday from 11:00 - 1:00 at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
