Charlene Armour

Charlene A. Armour, age 57 passed away peacefully on July 11th, 2020 with her daughter and husband by her bedside. Born on July 17th, 1962 in Bridgeport to the late Charles and Lucy Izzo, Charlene was the older of 1 other sibling. She graduated from Trumbull High, and then went on to grow a family permanently in Bridgeport. Married to Thomas Armour, they shared one child, Ashley Armour.
Charlene was a devoted Christian. As a very active member of the North Park Baptist Church, Charlene consistently professed her love for the Lord. Being a saved Christian, Charlene found importance in raising her daughter Ashley in the congregation.
Charlene was a great Mom. Acting as PTSO president for many years at High Horizons magnet school, she quickly formed many relationships that would lead her to her great reputation. One of those relationships, consisted of four women on the PTSO board, and they were later called the "core four". Throughout Charlene's years as president, she fought seriously for her daughter and the other students, ensuring that they had the best care the school system had ever provided.
After many years as a stay at home mom, Charlene went on to receive a job as a business clerical on Bridgeport Hospitals psych ward, better known as "Rich 8". Char took serious pride in her job, not only in helping families, but recognizing staff through the gifting of her specialty breads.
When her job at Bridgeport was cut short by cancer, she later found similar joy in volunteering at the Smilow cancer center.
Charlene, with everything she valued, was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. She is now survived by her husband Tom and daughter Ashley, a sister Anne Marie and her husband James Faggella; A mother-in-law Nancy Armour; A sister in-law Linda and her husband Thomas Tighe, her loving niece Shannon, and her adored nephews Brian and wife Emily, Nathan, and Sean.
