Charles E. Loomis, age 82 of Southbury, formerly of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in Parish, NY. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Howard and Clara Loomis, he had been a Huntington resident for many years prior to moving to Southbury 9 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a retired purchasing agent for Sikorsky Aircraft. Mr. Loomis was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include nieces and nephews: Howard Loomis of Southbury, Charles Loomis of Newtown, Arlene Casivant of Southbury, Allison Remlin of Parish, NY and Andrea Capozziello of Newtown, and several; great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Howard and Richard Loomis and his long-time companion, Alan Meyer. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Lawn Cemetery, Shelton.
