Charles E. (Charlie) Mclevy

Charles E. (Charlie) McLevy, age 66 of Fairfield beloved husband of Virginia (Ginny) McLevy passed away May 14, 2014 while on vacation in England. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Ellwood and Eva McLevy he had been a lifelong Fairfield resident. Mr. McLevy graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp in Vietnam. He was the owner for forty years of McLevy Builders in Fairfield. He was a Lifelong member of the American Motorcycle Association and participated with his son in numerous off-road motorcycle races for many years. He loved being outdoors, hiking, traveling, but above all else, loved being with his family and working alongside his son Josh. Survivors in addition to his wife Ginny include three children, Dr. Jennifer McLevy Bazzanella and her husband John of Memphis, TN ., Joshua McLevy of Fairfield and Kimberly Garamella Tankersley and her husband Ronnie of Stockton, CA, grandchildren, Jack Bazzanella and soon-to-be grandson Charlie; Remy Tankersley, five brothers and sisters, Pam Morse and her husband Robert of Madison, NJ Carl McLevy of Fairfield Dawn McLevy of Fairfield Linda Frye and her husband Richard of Bolton, Ct and Malcolm McLevy and his wife Donna of Bethel, Ct and several nieces and nephews. A service celebrating his life will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment with military honors will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
