Cheryl A. Lovegren

Cheryl A. Lovegren, age 72, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Rudolph S, Lovegren, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Born in Upper Darby, PA, the daughter of the late Henry and Kathryn Clum, she had been a Fairfield resident for most of her adult life. Mrs. Lovegren received her Bachelor's degree in Christian Education from The Kings College in Briarcliff Manor, NY and her Masters degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport. She taught briefly in Stratford prior to raising her family, and then taught in Trumbull for over 20 years. Cheryl was an active long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Fairfield. She delighted in time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren who meant the world to her. Survivors include three beloved children, Deanna Sheng and her husband Tony of Columbia, MD, Stephanie Edgecombe and her husband Richard of Savannah, GA and Douglas S. Lovegren and his wife Jacqueline of Monroe; five cherished grandchildren, Katie and Emily Sheng, Skyler and Brendan Edgecombe and Chase Lovegren; a loving sister, Karen Ehrhart and her husband Dale of Laurel, MD; a sister-in-law, Marie Clum La Force of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; and several special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, David Clum. Friends may greet the family Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A memorial service celebrating Cheryl's life will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. David DeVries, Pastor, officiating. The family requests guests wear any shade of blue in honor of Cheryl's favorite color. Interment will be private in Lawncroft Cemetery.
