Claudia S. (Swanson) Massey

Claudia S. Massey of Fairfield, beloved wife of Scott D. Massey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Roy and Rose Swanson, she had been a lifelong Fairfield resident.  Claudia graduated from Andrew Warde High School.  For 41 years, she and her husband Scott owned and operated Awning Cleaning Industries Inc. She was a long-time member of Black Rock Church where she enjoyed volunteering and always held a special place in her heart for the church and the many friends she met there.  Claudia loved animals of all kinds and would donate often to local animal shelters.  In addition to her husband Scott, Claudia will be greatly missed by her son, Taylor Massey of Fairfield; a sister, Diana Swanson of Bridgeport; four nieces and nephews, Jesse, Colin, Julia and Kirsten as well as several great-nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister, Hilary Wade.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, followed by a celebration of Claudia’s life at 11:00 a.m. at Black Rock Church.  In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a donation in Claudia’s memory to the Deacons Fund of Black Rock Church that was so supportive to her and her family throughout her illness at 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, CT 06825, or to a local honorable animal shelter.
