Constance Mary Minei, age 82, of Fairfield, beloved wife of Angelo Minei, for 56 years, passed away peacefully Monday, December 1, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Yonkers, NY the daughter of the late Nicholas and Sarah (Sadie) McAree Rahgo, she had been a lifelong area resident. She was a 1950 graduate of Bassick High School and a 1953 graduate of St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Minei was a registered nurse and worked at St. Vincent's Medical Center as Head Nurse on 3 North. She was a member of the Nurse Alumni Association at St. Vincent's. Mrs. Minei was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Constance loved opening her home to her children's many friends who sought out her advice and guidance; many considering her like a second mother. She delighted in time spent with her large family and cooking wonderful meals for them especially her famous "Mama's Macaroni". She relished the role of grandmother and always looked forward to attending her grandchildren's events. Survivors in addition to her loving husband Angelo include 6 beloved children and their families: James Minei of Fairfield, Lorraine Cappella and her husband Stephen of Hamden, Donna Minei of Monroe, Marie Muthersbaugh and her husband James and their children, Mary and James of Bethel, Lisa Dundon and her husband Robert of Monroe, and Sarah Ludlow and her husband Wess and their children Digby, Quinn and Willow of Preston; a beloved aunt, Gloria of New Haven, a brother, Michael Rahgo of Danbury; nieces and nephews including a special nephew Patrick Lane of Fairfield; two special family friends considered the "7th" Minei Mark Halstead and Karen McCormack, and a dear lifelong friend, Barbara Lasko She was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Lane and a brother Lawrence Rahgo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield.
