Daniel J. Dobi

Daniel J. Dobi, (Dan) age 63, of Bridgeport, CT, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT after a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side. Dan was born in Bridgeport, CT the son of the late William and Frances (Morton) Dobi. He grew up in Fairfield and attended Andrew Warde High School. Dan worked for many years as a longshoreman in the City of Bridgeport. He was an expert craftsman with building stone walkways and retaining walls, as well as being a talented woodworker. Dan's passion was fishing, spending time with dogs he had throughout his life and tending to his friend's animals. Dan is survived by his brother, William J. Dobi and his wife Beverly, of Fairfield and a sister Beatrice J. Nagy and her husband Robert Nagy, of Deptford, New Jersey; nephews Robert, Daniel, and Mitchell Dobi; and nieces Meredith Cortese and Emily Nagy, and his longtime companion, Eloisa Azeredo. Dan was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Jean King. Due to the pandemic and restrictions on public gatherings, the family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
