David G. Barber

David George Barber was born on April 24, 1949 in Queens, NY. Much of his childhood was spent with his family in Stony Brook, NY. In 1967, David graduated from the Stony Brook School. He then went on to Middlebury College where he received a BA in Economics and French in 1971. David obtained an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Finance in 1973.
David then moved to Chicago and worked for Quaker Oats. In 1978, he moved to New York and worked for CBS, Ernst and Young, and PepsiCo. David used his MBA to work in the financial analysis and management consulting fields.In April 1984, he married Joyce Heffernan in New York. In 1985, they moved to Fairfield, CT and gave birth to their son Jonathan in April 1987.
David began a second career in 2001 as an Adjunct Professor of Economics at several colleges in New York and Connecticut, including Quinnipiac University, Western and Southern Connecticut State Universities, and Fairfield University. David passed away quietly in his sleep on November 27th. David is survived by his wife Joyce, his son Jonathan, and his brothers John and Andrew. A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 10:30 AM meeting DIRECTLY at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Fairfield. Friends may call Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 4-8 PM in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S Benson Rd., Fairfield. Burial will be private Saturday, December 5, 2015 in upstate New York.
