David W. Goodfellow, 66, died comfortably in his home surrounded by his family after a valiant 4 year battle against cancer with the help of medical staff at Yale & Dana Farber in Boston, he came home and was assisted by his family and hospice and peacefully passed away September 7, 2023.

David is survived by his sister Nancy Lynne Hunter (J. Burton Hunter, III) of  Buckhannon, WV. and his brother R. Scott Goodfellow (Margaret E. Goodfellow) of Stratford, CT Along with 6 nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews. He had a very beloved cat, Harley, who has been adopted to a wonderful new home. He was recently predeceased by his mother Marjorie C. Goodfellow and one of his great nieces, Anna of North Carolina.

Dave’s many friends were a very important part of his life. They shared travel, Broadway Shows, cycling, Tanglewood, Birthdays, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and many dinners. He volunteered with Pilot Pen Tennis Tournament. He also bowled on a team at Nutmeg Bowl.

His favorite place in the world was Provincetown, MA. At a future date his ashes will be scattered at Cape Cod along with the ashes of his life time friend Karen Bruno Dickenson. He is a 1975 graduate of Andrew Warde High School in Fairfield, CT and he furthered his education at the University of Bridgeport and Housatonic Community College.

A Celebration Memorial Gathering will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield, 2475 Easton Tpke. Fairfield on Saturday September 23 from 3-5PM. Please park behind the church and enter through door #4.

Dave was president of Electric Maintance Service Co. of Black Rock, a family owned business. For years, David was an avid fan of the UCONN Husky’s women’s basketball team. And loved playing darts with friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to the team from Caring Hospice. They have been a valuable spiritual and medical support.

Dave had a soft and gentle heart that reached out to everyone, including animals.  In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stratford Cat Project, a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. 85 Champion terrace. Stratford, CT 06614
