David Matis

David Matis, age 52 of Oxford, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017. Born in Bridgeport the son of the late John and Barbara Matis, David was raised in Fairfield. He graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School, Norwalk Technical School and attended the University of Connecticut. Dave was a licensed carpenter and worked for Henry & Gerety Builders and A.V. Tuchy Inc. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union. He was an avid golfer, a die hard Jets and Mets fan, loved working in his gardens, and delighted in time spent with his loving family. Dave will be sadly missed by his siblings, Jack Matis and his wife Connie of Fairfield, Gary Matis and his wife Darray of Wilbraham, MA, Diane Curran and her husband Chris of Huntington and Wendy Siconolfi and her husband Tony of Stratford; his cherished nieces and nephews, John (JP) Matis and his wife Kate, Kelly Rothman and her husband Matt, Kyle Matis and his wife Jacklyn, Ryan Matis and his wife Lindsey, Christopher Curran and Sarah, Sean Curran and Nicole, Lindsey Peatfield and Kyle, Eric Curran and Sandra, Joseph, John and Casey Siconolfi; several great- nieces and great-nephews and a host of cousins. Friends may greet the family Friday, December 22, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A prayer service will conclude the visitation.
