David P. Shackett

David Paul Shackett, 81, passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on November 19th after a long illness.  He was born in Claremont, NH, and grew up in Dunbarton, NH and Long Beach, CA.  In 1960, he graduated from Concord High School and then served four years in the U.S. Air Force.  He married his childhood sweetheart, Janice Blanchard, in 1964.  They lived in Concord, NH, and Norwalk, Southport and Fairfield, CT.

He lived life to the fullest, and especially loved to be with his family and his many friends. Janice and he traveled the world together--going to places they never dreamed of visiting when they lived in the small New Hampshire town.  He enriched the life of everyone who knew him and he will be missed by many people.

A memorial service is  being planned for the future.  In due course, the details of the memorial will be posted on the Spear-Miller Funeral Home & Cremation Service web site.  The family requests that people not send flowers but, if they would like to honor David, please make a donation to Homes for the Brave, 655 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604 or to their favorite charity.
