Diane Quinn Cortez

Diane (Dede) Quinn-Cortez, age 56, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Carlos Cortez, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in her home. Born in Farmingdale, Long Island, Diane was raised in Fairfield. She graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School and Sacred Heart University. He career as an accountant spanned 30 years. Including time at Bridgeport Machines and Yale University. She was especially active with the Norwalk Postal Employees Federal Credit Union. Diane was gifted with a beautiful singing voice, often sang at weddings and other occasions, and was lead vocalist in two local bands: The Uncle Chick Band and The Full Circle Band. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be profoundly missed by all who loved her. Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Nuccitelli of Burbank, CA; her mother, Dorothy M. Quinn of Stratford, formerly of Fairfield; four brothers and sisters, John Quinn and his wife Sharon of Windham, NY, Patricia Iacozza and her husband Paul of Stratford, William F. Quinn and his wife Lilly of Stratford, and Mary Ann Kalm and her husband Brett of Stratford; and five nieces and nephews, John A. Quinn, William H. Quinn, Matthew P. Iacozza, Audrienne V. Kalm, and Haydon J. Kalm. Diane is also survived by members of her deceased husband's family who she loved and cherished. She was predeceased by her father, John J. Quinn, and a brother, Robert J. Quinn. A memorial service celebrating Diane's life will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Congregational Church, 877 Park Avenue at State Street in Bridgeport, with the Rev. Sara Smith, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be private, and calling hours have been omitted.
