Dorothy B. Wilder

Dorothy B. Wilder, age 95 of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Fairfield, beloved wife of both the late Kenneth W. Brewster, Sr. and Francis M. Wilder, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Born in Baguio, Philippine Islands, the daughter of the late Charles and Maribelle Becker, she came to the United States at the age of 14 settling in Bethesda, MD and came to Fairfield with her first husband Kenneth in 1940. She had been a Mesa resident since 1993. Mrs. Wilder retired from General Electric in Bridgeport where she worked in management and supervisory roles on the assembly lines. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Bridgeport and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Sierra Vista, AZ. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and canning fruits and vegetables. Survivors include her beloved daughter, Dorothy B. Schroeder of Bridgeport; eight grandchildren, Scott, Michelle, Kimberly, Kenneth, Amy and Keith Brewster, Eric Kirschenman and Emily Welch; eight great-grandchildren, Julianna, Brian, Lindsey, Allison, Valerie, Cooper, Jordan and Angela. She was predeceased by her daughter, Diane L. Kirschenman, a son, Kenneth W. Brewster, Jr., a grandson, Kenneth Kirschenman and a brother, George Becker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may greet the family Wednesday, April 4th from 4-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
