Douglas Robert Kelley

Douglas Robert Kelley of Trumbull passed away suddenly on October 20, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport with his loving family by his side. He was born in Bridgeport on January 10, 1951.
He is the son of Dorothy Kelley of Stratford and the late Robert Kelley, and father of Lauren Hammond and Ryan Kelley. Doug also leaves behind his loving partner and companion, Susan Reynolds of Trumbull, his sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Jeff Lemkin of Malibu, CA, his son-in-law, Drew Hammond, his former wife, Cathryn Kelley of Fairfield and many cousins, nephews and one niece. Doug lived in Fairfield county all of his life and was a graduate of Fairfield Prep and Union College in Schenectady, NY. He spent most of his career in the automotive business, managing several dealerships in Fairfield and New Haven counties. He was an auxiliary member of Port 5 Naval Veterans. Doug touched the lives of everyone he knew with his contagious smile, sense of humor and enthusiasm for living life to its fullest. He was a remarkably caring man and will be missed by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 24, 2014 meeting DIRECTLY at St. Pius Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may greet the family Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S. Benson Rd, Fairfield on. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug's name to New England Organ Bank, 60 1st Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451 or a charity of your choice.
