Dr. Tammy E. Luther, age 63, of Hyannis, MA, passed the evening of Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in New Haven, CT.
Tammy worked in Hyannis as a clinical psychologist for 35 years. Her work was her passion, and she thought of it as her true purpose. In 2020, Tammy moved back to her hometown of Ansonia, CT to stay close to family during the pandemic, but continued to care for her clients remotely up until a few weeks ago.
Tammy’s intelligence and love for books worked in tandem in her insatiable desire for knowledge. She devoured books on all subject matter, often in one sitting if she could. She possessed an inquisitive and genuinely curious nature, not only for information, but also in the people she cared for and interacted with. With a mix of her cheerfulness, witty humor, and enthusiasm, she was capable of brightening anyone’s day. Tammy was nothing short of devoted and loyal to her family, making frequent trips between The Cape and Connecticut to spend time with them. She always made time for a family vacation, going anywhere from Vermont to Disney and beyond. Above all, Tammy lived for and was a strong follower in Christ. Her faith was deeply engrained in everything she did, adding to her purpose. Her connection with Christ likely provided her with the kind, big-hearted spirit that she will be remembered for the most.
In addition to her parents, Ron & Emmy Luther, Tammy leaves behind her sisters, Linda (Tim) Kanuch and Debbie (Joey) Plitnick; as well as her nephews, Colin Kanuch and Ryan Plitnick.
Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 10am at Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield. A Celebration of Life will follow the interment, beginning at 11am in the Gathering Room at Black Rock Church, 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield.
