E. Raymond Simpson

E. Raymond Simpson, Jr., age 82 of Monroe, formerly of Fairfield, beloved husband of 58 years of Dianne Curtis Simpson, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 in his home. Born in Melrose, MA the son of the late Edward Raymond Simpson, Sr. and Arlene Esther Simpson, he was raised in Winchester, MA and moved to Fairfield in 1977. He received an Accounting Degree from Bentley College, a business degree from Suffolk University and his MBA from Babson College. Mr. Simpson then earned his CPA. He worked for many years for the Financial Accounting Standards Board, a career he loved and thrived in. He was an active member of Greenfield Hill Congregational Church where he served as an usher and a Trustee. Raymond was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved working hard to support his family. In addition to his loving wife Dianne, he will be sadly missed by his three beloved children, Anne Simpson Doucette of Fairfield, Edward Raymond Simpson, III (Ted) and his wife Diantha Demetriou of Centerport, NY and George Curtis Simpson and his wife Vanessa of Monroe; four cherished grandchildren, Edward Raymond Simpson IV (Theo), Katina Esther Simpson, Jacqueline Renee Simpson and Nathan Hartley Simpson. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Marc Doucette. A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, 1045 Old Academy Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
