Edwin John Webb

Edwin J. Webb, age 82 of Southport and Naples, FL. Beloved husband of Edith (Bunny) Fitzpatrick O'Dwyer Webb, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday May 27, 2014. Born in Greenwich the son of the late Herbert and Agnes Webb, he attended St. Catherine of Siena Grammar School and graduated from Fairfield Prep in 1949 and attended the University of Ct. He lived in Ridgefield for many years; Southbury and recently Naples FL. and Southport. Ed was a licensed Real Estate Broker for most of his life and also worked in Logistics for the Eagle Pencil Co. He served in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Turkey and Egypt. In his retirement Ed loved working at the Fairfield Beach Club. Survivors in addition to his wife include a son Edwin J. Webb Jr. of Foxboro, MA; a grandson Daniel M. Webb; a stepson Michael J. O'Dwyer; a sister, Peggy Webb of Woodbury, Ct.; brother Herbert Webb and his wife Jeannette of Mattapoisett, MA.; two nephews Tim and Chris Webb. He was predeceased by his son's mother, Kathleen F. Webb. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 31, 2014 at 11:00AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Fairfield. Calling hours have been omitted and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of The Mississippi Abbey, 8400 Abbey Hill Rd. Dubuque, IA.52003 or the Fairfield Prep Alumni Association 1073 North Benson Rd.
