Eleanor Harriet Ruot

Eleanor Harriet Ruot, age 99, of Newtown, formerly of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Edmond R. Ruot, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 15, 2018. Born in Torrington, CT the daughter of the late Ernest and Gertrude Crutch Hurlbut, she had been a Fairfield resident since 1956 prior to relocating to Wallingford and Newtown. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fairfield, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Ruot enjoyed knitting and quilting, but above all else, spending time with her loving family. Survivors include two beloved sons: Richard E. Ruot, of The Villages, FL and Alan R. Ruot, of Kingman, AZ; four cherished grandchildren: Ernest J. Ruot, of North Kingston, RI, Barbara R. Grasso, of Newtown, Brian P. Ruot, of Plainville, Melissa W. Ruot, of New Britain; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, David E. Ruot, and sisters, Marion Riggs and Marjorie Harrison. An interment service in Hillside Cemetery in Torrington will be held at a later date.
