Eleanore C. Iannarone

Eleanore C. Iannarone, 98, long time Fairfield resident passed peacefully on September 13, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Agostino Iannarone for over 62 years until his passing. Eleanore was born in Westport to the late Domenick and Palma Colandrea. 

Eleanore worked for many years as a legal secretary in Fairfield, but will be remembered fondly by many students as a House secretary at Andrew Warde High School. She loved to entertain her family and friends at her home, she made Sunday night pasta dinners an occasion. Her Italian Christmas Eve dinner with the seven fishes is legendary to her family. Her greatest joy was just being a mother and grandmother.

She is the loving mother of John P. Iannarone, MD and his wife Elaine of Monroe, and Holly Flynn of Fairfield. She is the proud and doting grandmother to: Nicholas and Joshua Iannarone, Sarah (Jarrod) DePrado, Melissa and Thomas Flynn, and Molly (Aykut) Tanis. She also leaves countless nieces, nephews, and cousins who looked to her as the Matriarch of the family. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her grandchildren Kevin and Keira Flynn, her siblings; Frank Carmine, Rose Chappa, Dolores Harvey, Stella McKnight, and her sisters-in-law, Eleanor, Lucy and Angelina Iannarone. 

The family would like to thank the amazing and caring staff of Middlebrook Farms at Trumbull and Caring Hospice of Stamford for the wonderful care and dignity they gave Eleanore in her final days.

A Funeral service will be held in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd, Fairfield on Friday September 27, 2024 at 12:30PM. Friends and family may visit prior to the service starting at 11AM.
