Elizabeth (Betsee) (Dunning) Osborn

Elizabeth (Betsee) Dunning Osborn, age 91, of Wallingford, formerly of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Richard G. Osborn, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at her residence at Ashlar Village in Wallingford.  Born Peekskill, New York August 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Edgar and Elizabeth Dunning, she had been a Fairfield resident for many years prior to relocating to Wallingford.

During World War II Betsee volunteered as an enemy plane spotter in Virginia. She graduated from State University of New York-Delhi in 1950. She served as a Girl Scout leader in Fairfield and was an active long-time member of the Fairfield Junior League.  For 14 years, she served as the Campaign Manager for Congressman Stewart McKinney.  Betsee’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.  She will be sadly missed by her five children; Judith McAllister of Manchester, TN, Susan Templeton of Knoxville, TN, Patricia Kern of Saunderstown, RI, Richard Osborn Jr. of Los Angeles, CA and Elizabeth Cosentino of Studio City, CA; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a brother, Peter Dunning and his wife Carol.
