Elizabeth A. (Betsy) Reis

Elizabeth A. Reis (Betsy) of Fairfield passed away peacefully in her home Wednesday, October 7, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Port Chester, NY the daughter of the late William and Alice Popp, she had been a Fairfield resident for the last 28 years. A graduate of Western Connecticut State College, Betsy was employed as a legal secretary and paralegal for many years. Betsy was a devout Roman Catholic and participated in Bible study at Trinity Episcopal Church in Southport; the Rosary Group at St. Pius X Church; and a Prayer Group from St. Pius X, St Thomas, and Holy Family Churches. Survivors include two beloved daughters, Susan Reis and her companion Christopher Hiltz of Burke, VA and Linda Reis of Lancaster, PA; a devoted brother, James (Jim) Popp of Taylors, SC; cousins Carol Olsen of Milford and Lucille Masi of Newtown, and other cousins. She was predeceased by her companion, Alfred H. Jordan. She is also survived by cherished Nancy Pagan, embraced like a daughter more than forty years ago. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 16, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Entombment will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Port Chester, NY.
