Esther Beatrice Dudas

Esther Beatrice Dudas, age 92, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Michael Joseph Dudas, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in River Rouge, MI, the daughter of the late Julius and Emma Foret, she had been a Fairfield resident for the last 58 years. Mrs. Dudas had been an active parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church since 1959 where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and volunteered at many church functions. Esther was very creative and loved crafts of all kinds. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, sewing, rug hooking, caning and furniture refinishing. She also loved cooking and baking, but above all else, delighted in time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include six beloved children, David J. Dudas and his wife Cathy of Easton, Gail A. McGrimley and her husband Tom of Madison, Michael J. Dudas and his wife Denise of Madison, Beatrice K. Bagley and her husband Jim of Fairfield, Marilyn D. Frey and her husband Tucker of Newtown and Dianne J. Dudas of Fairfield; 15 adoring grandchildren, 15 cherished great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Michael, she was predeceased by their infant son Paul and seven brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. meeting directly at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
