Evelyn L. Illman, age 98, of Branford, formerly of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Leeds H. Illman passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 5, 2017 The Hearth at Gardenside in Branford. Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Mariano and Teresina Anzalone, she was a Fairfield resident for many years prior to moving to Spring Hill, FL. She lived for the last three years in Branford. Mrs. Illman's career in banking spanned over 30 years, retiring as an Assistant Branch Manager for the CT National Bank. Evelyn was a talented artist and loved painting watercolors. She delighted in collecting her paintings and loved painting. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Survivors include three beloved children, Barry Illman and Mary Russell of Charleston, WV, Leslie Tar and her husband Steve of Fairfield and Laura Conley and her husband Thomas of Branford. Predeceased by her grandson, Jason Tar, she is survived by three grandchildren, Christopher Tar, Lisa Illman and Natalie Wolanin; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Davis of Ocala, FL and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers and sisters. Friends may greet the family Monday, January 9, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
