Fannie Raisides, age 83 of Fairfield, beloved wife and best friend of 52 years of the late Paul Raisides, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Fairfield, the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Tambakis, she had been a lifelong town resident. She was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School and attended Bay Path Junior College in Massachusetts. Fannie was a member of the Marie Lafayette Chapter 111 Order of the Eastern Star and served as Grand Deputy for the State of Connecticut Order of the Rainbow for Girls. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she delighted in time spent with her loving family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She was an avid NY Yankees fan and loved tennis. Survivors include three loving children, Billie and Elaine Raisides of Fairfield and James Raisides and his wife Vonda of Marblehead, MA; three beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Paige and Jack Raisides; a brother, Paul Tambakis of FL; a sister-in-law, Harriet Raisides of PA, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport with the Rev. Andreas Vithoulkas, Economos, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield.
