Florence Ryzak Pirozzoli passed away peacefully at 95 years of age on Saturday, February 3, 2018.
Born on October 17, 1922, Florence studied at St. Thomas Aquinas School and was graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School in 1940. She worked for Remington Arms during World War II and married Alexander P. Pirozzoli in 1949. Alex predeceased her in 2012.
Florence and Alex built their first home together in Trumbull with their own hands. There they raised their three daughters Jayne Chromy of Santa Fe, NM, Mary Ellen Pirozzoli of Ridgefield, and Lynn Pirozzoli of Warrenton, VA.
In addition to her daughters, Florence is survived by many nieces and nephews
Florence was dedicated to her family and tirelessly nursed many a friend or relative through illness and infirmity. Her home was always a haven to those who needed a place to stay for a while or a good hot meal.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Family and friends may call Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
