Frank Clerio, age 94, of Bridgeport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Anthony and Adeline Clericuzio, he had been a Fairfield resident for most of his life. A graduate of Warren Harding High School, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II onboard the USS Conklin and later, The USS Sabik. Following the War, Frank worked as a machinist at Manning, Maxwell and Moore. He then worked as a licensed hairdresser and barber owning Clerio's Hairstylists in Southbury. He was President of the Bridgeport Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association. Frank was extremely committed to health and nutrition. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition from Donsbach University. He embarked on a long career in Health and Nutrition and was deeply dedicated to the large clientele he developed in owning his own health and supplement store, the Fairfield Nutrition Center and in working at Sweetwater Health Foods in Fairfield, Nature's Way Health Foods in Stratford, New Morning Market in Woodbury, Sprouts in Fairfield, and lastly, Mrs. Green's in Fairfield where he worked until age 89.
At that time Frank moved to Jewish Senior Services (formerly The Jewish Home) where he received incredible loving care and support. He was part of the team in the work center/mail room working Monday to Friday.
Frank was a long-time dedicated member of Black Rock Church where he attended Seniors of the Rock, taught Bible study for many years, was a Care Ministry host and organized the distribution of tickets and seating for the Black Rock Church Christmas and Easter productions.
Thanks to Frank's family, friends, and the Care Ministry of Black Rock Church for being a very special part of his life. He will be missed by many!
Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Linda Clerio, two grandchildren, Anthony and Monica Clerio; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Ronald Clerio and siblings, Rachel Gracia, Jean Fellows and Louie Clericuzio. A service to celebrate Frank's Life will be held at Black Rock Church,3685 Black Rock Tpke., Fairfield, CT 06825 on Saturday, October 17, 1 PM. Donations in Frank's memory may be made to the Care Ministry at Black Rock Church.
