Frederick J. Yankocy,94, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Elisabeth Brauch Yankocy passed away on June 22,2022. Frederick was born in Yonkers on September 4, 1927 to the late Ferdinand and Mildred Salome Yankocy. Frederick graduated high school early in Mamaroneck, NY where the family lived for many years. He bravely served in the United States Army during World War ll as a Staff Sargent in Japan. After completion of his service, Frederick went to college, first at Sampson College, ultimately graduating from the University of Colorado, Boulder where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. Upon graduation from college Frederick joined his father in the family business, Yankocy Wholesale Building Materials, where he still worked full time up until a few months ago. Frederick was a member and past exalted ruler of the Elks Club Mamaroneck. He enjoyed reading, was an excellent bowler and a devoted New York Yankees Fan. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. ln addition to his wife Elisabeth, he is survived by his sons Stephen and Frederick and his wife Rene Fichera Yankocy, as well as his grandchildren, Sean and Samantha. He is also survived by his sisters, Norma Riffel and Jane Yankocy and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 19 at 10AM  St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Dr, Fairfield, CT
