Gail M. Roy

Gail M. Roy, age 87 of Cary, NC, formerly of Norwalk, beloved wife of the late George J. Roy, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Lord Chamberlain Nursing Center in Stratford. Born in Norwalk, the daughter of the late Harold and Helen Foster, she had been a lifelong city resident prior to relocating to North Carolina. She was a member of the graduating class of 1947 from Norwalk High School and remained active in the Alumni Association. Gail worked as a legal secretary in Norwalk. A proud Mayflower descendant, Gail was a past Regent of the Norwalk-Village Green Chapter of the Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution and a Life Member of the National Society of the D.A.R. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross and had been a Girl Scout Leader. A homemaker in every sense of the meaning, she loved cooking, baking, sewing, but above all else, time spent with her family. Survivors include three beloved daughters, Cynthia Horn of Wilton, Judy Smith of Cary, NC and Nancy Roy of Stratford; a sister, Alice Allen of Norwalk; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her loving husband George, she was predeceased by a brother, Edward C. Foster. A graveside committal service will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
