Gary Stoni was an incredible man who would do anything for anybody. His warmth & generosity had no boundaries as is evidenced by the hundreds who call him friend. Gary saw the best in everything and everyone and was passionate in convincing others to do the same. What a great privilege to have had him in our lives.
Gary was a skilled bowler having amassed numerous 300 games, 800 series, countless tournament titles and inductions into both the local and state Halls of Fame. His skill, however, is surpassed by the acts of service & kindness he extended to the associations to which he dedicated so many of his years, to his fellow bowlers to whom he offered advice, support & friendship, and to the young junior bowlers he mentored and often bowled with. The Nutmeg and bowling communities were an extension of Gary's family and his welcoming smile, hugs and good humor will be sorely missed on lanes everywhere.
Gary loved to golf and his patience on the course allowed him a consistent and well-played game that was the envy of all those who sliced and hooked in his company. He would happily play with anyone and be seemingly unfazed by the club bashing, cussing, and general rowdiness that may be going on around him. His presence humbled his fellow golfers.
As most know, Gary was a very spiritual person and he often made mention of praying for you when he knew you were having tough times. Thank you, Gary! We know you will continue to watch over us.
Perhaps the most obvious reflection of the person Gary was, was reflected in the love & adoration by those who call him Pop - his deep love for the grandkids was apparent in every moment he spent with them. These littlest ones have lost the most as they will not have the years we were granted with Gary so we must do our best to keep his light alive for them with our stories, laughter & love.
So many have asked what they can do - be a little nicer, be a little kinder, open your heart a little wider...just like Gary did.
