Geoffrey A. Sprouse passed away on march 24, 2016 in Belle Harbor, NY at the age of 66. He is survived by his son Garrett of West Haven and daughter Dana McLaughlin of Hampton Falls, NH; grandchildren Sean, Jamie and Ryan McLaughlin; brothers Stewart T. Sprouse of Ft. Myers, FL and L. Henry Sprouse of Stratford.
Geoff was born on March 28, 1949 in Washington D.C. to Lawrence H. and Mary Bausserman Sprouse. He grew up in Fairfield and graduated for Roger Ludlowe High School. He attended George Washington University in 1968 before returning to Connecticut to attend the University of Bridgeport and be close to his family. In 1968 he married Kim Chaffer of Fairfield and their first child was born soon after. Geoff and his family then moved to Stratford and in 1978 welcomed their second child.
Geoff started his financial and accounting career very early at the Bridgeport Hydraulic Company. He moved up quickly there and soon set out on his own and incorporated as a financial consultant. His business allowed him to travel all around the country including Florida, New Hampshire, California New Jersey and finally Rockaway NY.
Geoff had many interests including gardening, woodworking and painting. He was passionate about all things automotive and closely followed Nascar and Indy car racing. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Jets. A memorial gathering is scheduled for Saturday June 25 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Geoff's life.
