George T. Cakavell

George Thomas Cakavell, son of the late Thomas and Elpida Cakavell, died peacefully on March 2, 2025 at Bridgeport Hospital. George was born on April 27, 1932 in Stamford, CT. George graduated from Stamford High School in 1950 and J.M. Wright Technical High School in 1952.

He served his country as an army war veteran (1953-1954) in Korea.

George retired in 1995 from PerkinElmer in Shelton. He also worked for CBS Labs in Stamford and Sorenson and Co. in Norwalk.

He leaves behind his wife Doris of 57 years along with 3 daughters, Wendy Cakavell of Hamden, CT, Linda Ard of Matthews, NC, and Tina Sanchez of Sonora, CA; 2 step sons, Robert Warme of Fairfield, CT and Carl (Jeanine) of Charleston, NH; 5 grandchildren, Michelle Kaiser (Nick), Sean Watson, Mick Ard, Kelly Ard, and Maddie Barajas; 2 great grandchildren, Luna and Layla; sisters-in-law Janice Westberg and Louise Dages; brothers-in-law Walter Dages and Robert Dages; cousins Frank Cakavell, Dieter Cakavell, and Chris Noohan; and many friends.

Friends and family may come to pay their respects on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 10am-12pm at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, CT with a funeral service taking place at 12pm. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield, CT.
