Glenn David Hellthaler

Glenn David Hellthaler, age 55; of Trumbull, beloved husband of Karen Donohue Hellthaler of 30 years, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 with his wife by his side after a long courageous battle.

Glenn was the youngest of six children, and according to family, also the funniest. He was a very talented, hard-working, self -employed contractor. He was an amazing and dedicated athlete in all sports. This was reflected from his back flips on the golf course to his passion coaching his son and friends in Little League. He loved spending time with his entire family, whether it was on the big rock in Maine, or at family gatherings. He was a loving and passionate human being to all, whose humor and fearlessness will live on in all of our hearts forever. Most important, he was a devoted husband and father, and his children will forever be impacted by his courage and love for them.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Karen, his children Nicole and Glenn Hellthaler Jr., his beloved mother, Barbara Hellthaler, his four brothers Raymond and wife Joan, Christopher and wife Gail, Richard and wife Karen, and John and wife Elizabeth Hellthaler, his sister Donna and husband Bill Daiek, his nieces and nephews, his grand nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved mother-in-law Marlene Donohue and brother-in-law Kevin Donohue and wife Eva.

Glenn is predeceased by his father, Raymond Hellthaler Sr., his father-in-law William Daniel Donohue, and his first nephew Mark Jason.

Calling hours for Glenn will he held on Wednesday, March 28th at Spear Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 pm. A service to celebrate the life of Glenn will begin promptly at 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to Smilow Cancer Care Center in Trumbull, CT.
