Glenna K. Smith, age 66, of Fairfield, beloved wife of 35 years of Bruce B. Smith, passed away peacefully in her home Friday, July 21, 2017.
Born in Dallas, TX, the daughter of the late Charles and Jane Krumboltz of San Antonio, Texas, she was a 34-year Fairfield resident. She graduated from Alamo Heights, Texas Christian University with a double major in Middle Eastern and North African History and the University of Texas where she received her Masters in Petroleum Land Management. Glenna was employed as a landman for various oil companies, including ARCO and Mosbacher Energy.
Glenna received an Education for Ministry Degree and was an active member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Fairfield where she served on the Vestry and volunteered for many outreach programs sponsored by the church. She was active with the School Volunteer Association of Bridgeport for many years.
In addition to her loving husband Bruce, Glenna will be dearly missed by her daughter, Lily A. Smith and her grandson, Jason C. Magoon of Fairfield; a sister, Paula Hutchinson of Houston, TX; a brother, Chuck Krumboltz of San Antonio, TX, and a niece, Ashlyn A. Munson of Denver, CO. She was predeceased by her much-loved niece, Emma Grace Hutchinson.
A memorial service celebrating Glenna's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 4670 Congress Street, Fairfield followed by refreshments in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Glenna's memory may be made to Partners in Health, 800 Boylston Street, #300, Boston, MA 02199. Note "Navajo Nation/Glenna Smith.
