Grace A. Corr

Grace A. Corr, age 71, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late John P. Corr, passed away Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, at St. Vincent's Medical Center with her daughter by her side. Born in Stamford, the daughter of the late Leonard and Emma Carlucci, she had been a Fairfield resident for the last 38 years. A graduate of Norwalk High School, she worked as a secretary for 25 years for Machlett Laboratories in Stamford. Following her retirement, she worked as a caregiver for Companions and Homemakers in Fairfield. She was a member of the Gaelic American Club and spent every Thursday having lunch with her best friend, Pat Zagozan, at Duchess Restaurant. She loved gardening, cooking -- especially her famous homemade meatballs -- watching British television shows and spending time with her family. Grace could always be found in the back pew of the Saturday 5:00 PM Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, wearing one of her signature hats. Her sense of humor, witty comebacks and no-nonsense attitude will be profoundly missed. Survivors include her beloved daughter, Amy Corr of Fairfield; a brother, Leonard Carlucci of Shelton; a sister-in-law, Anne Sweeney of Fairfield; two nieces, Catherine Anderson of Fairfield and Emily Carlucci of Shelton; a nephew, Mark Sweeney of Sharon; three great nieces and a great nephew. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Edward Sweeney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
