Gregory Scott Fields

Gregory S. Fields, age 44, of Bridgeport, formerly of Fairfield, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 2, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Greg's family deeply mourns his sudden loss but takes comfort in the hope that he has now found the serenity he searched for during his life. Born in New Britain, Greg was raised in Fairfield and was an area resident all of his life. He graduated from Fairfield Warde High School and attended Gateway Community College. Gregory worked for local companies including Fetzer Tire and Circuit City in computer sales. A gifted mechanic, Greg could fix anything. He had a tremendously astute sense of space and a great eye for design. He loved creating gardens, fishing, hunting and the outdoors, and he adored animals of all kinds. He was a dear friend to all and was always willing to assist anyone who needed it. Gregory had a wonderful sense of humor and was always quick with a joke.
Survivors include his two beloved children, Briana and Gavin Fields; his parents, Donald and Gay Fields of Fairfield; maternal grandmother, Heta Wagenhals of Shelton; aunt Cathy Jacek and her husband Henry of Dundas, Ontario, Canada; aunt Patricia Wagenhals of Riveredge, New Jersey, and several cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Frederick Wagenhals, paternal grandparents, Leo and Mary Fields, an uncle, Frederick Wagenhals, and Greg's long-time partner, Tiffany Klein. A memorial service will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for his children.
